Clarity - still a relatively small, highly focussed business, is one of the UK's leading luxury brands and fast becoming the only choice for the discerning client. The business has grown steadily over the years and now operates the most modern fleet of luxury yachts in the UK from the largest number of departure points.
The business is also unique in that its fleet, whilst accomodating corporate clients' needs with larger yachts, also caters for discerning private clients who tend to charter yachts for more personal events. As a result the company has an extensive and enviable client list from premiership footballers to city bankers, ambitious small businesses to major blue chip organisations - all of whom have become regular sea-farers after realising that chartering is a great way to escape and enjoy the thrill of the water in five star luxury.
With a wide range of exciting charter options, including part day charters and unique themed events, there really is no better way to take to the seas around the UK's south coast.
History
Clarity is owned and operated by Nigel Willis and Mark Poulton. The business began informally in 1996 when Nigel, then Director of e-gaming and new product development at Gala Group, acquired his first sailing yacht in Southampton. Mark, a chartered engineer at Cummins joined him as skipper - Nigel knew very little about sailing back then - he is from Leeds, but ever resourceful, coded the yacht and chartered it to various clients.

 Next followed a unique path of events. Mark, like many others, decided to pursue a dream career instead of a conventional one and decided to consolidate his sailing experience and gain his Yachtmaster qualifications. After qualifying - for both power and sail with flying colours, he disappeared to Turkey to take on another ambition - to help build a superyacht and yes - you guessed it, the name is Clarity.
The original Clarity can be chartered today at various glamourous locations around the Mediterranean, though as it's a multi million pound top-of-the-range superyacht, it's considerably more expensive than most UK charter yachts!
Meanwhile - back in the UK, Nigel had owned a number of yachts and after a while decided to buy his first motor boat. Spurred on by Mark's ambition to leave the rat race, he also decided to leave Gala Group (although both Nigel and Mark still keep their hands in with specialist consultancy work) and after many years' loyal service, departed to create the Clarity business as it has become today.
Mark returned to the UK permanently, and both Mark and Nigel are actively involved with the business on a day to day basis - and can very frequently be seen escaping from the office to take clients on charters. |

 The Team
The Clarity team now stretches far and wide, from our new team in Brighton round to Stuart & Celia in Southampton, along the coast to Torquay with John and Nicky and on to Falmouth with Clive & Helen. If you call our office, you'll likely be speaking with Nigel, Mark, Suzanna or Heather and if you bump into someone in a Clarity uniform just hanging around a yacht it's probably either Anthony, Tina or Ben!
